Enrolment Information
Pre-Registration
Please complete the online Expression of Interest form below. Prior to the centre confirming a place for your child, parents/guardians are encouraged to visit Chuckles Childcare. On visiting the centre you will be given an enrolment form and handbook which needs to be complete and returned along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record. We will do our best to accommodate all enrolment applications, should we not be able to offer the required days, you will be placed on our waiting list and notified of vacancies as they arise. A minimum of 2 enrolled days is suggested. This is to support each child’s involvement in the development programs offered and to assist in the development of their friendships.
Enrolment
We recommend visiting Chuckles Childcare with your child to become familiar with the centre and staff. Ann (proprietor) or Mel (manager) will provide a tour of the centre and relevant classrooms. Prior to your child starting in childcare, you will need to contact the Department of Human Services (DHS ~ formally named; Centrelink or Family Assistance Office). This is to assess and arrange the Child Care Subsidy. To confirm a booking, you will need to return a completed enrolment form, along with your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record. If you need any help completing this form please ask.
Orientation
Once enrolment days have been confirmed, you and your child will be invited to attend the free orientation and stay and play sessions. This is to enable family members and your child to meet the educators and start to build confidence in their new surroundings. Every child reacts differently when attending childcare centre’s or when leaving their parents/carers for the first time.
Some children will settle quickly, for others it can be a distressing time. When it is time to leave your child, they may become upset but we suggest saying goodbye and leaving quickly. This will assist your child with any separation anxiety they may have and help to build trust that you are going to return. Please be assured that our educators will do everything to help your child settle and comfort them if necessary. Regular attendance will also help a child to settle more quickly over the coming weeks.
If you are worried about your child’s wellbeing, please feel free to phone the centre anytime during the day. If you child is unsettled for an extended period of time, please be assured that we will contact you.
Orientation with a stay & play
(9.15am to 11.00am) This will give both you and educators the opportunity to get to know each other, find out more about centre policies and procedures, discuss daily routines and room programs, and design a personal profile tailored to your child/ren. Your child/ren will have an opportunity to play with their new friends and experience the environment, with the knowledge that you are close by. Please remember your child’s hat and water bottle in case of outdoor play.
Parents and/or Guardians that are attending the session, are also asked to bring their mobile phone with them so we can set up your Kidsoft sign in and sign out authorisation, and to sign up to our ‘EarlyWorks’ online communication system.
Stay & Play
(9.00 am to 11.00am up to 3 sessions) This provides an opportunity for your child to stay without their families at no charge. In this time they can become familiar with the environment and help make some new friends before being left for a longer period of time.
